Singer Carly Rae Jepsen has confessed that her band once had to stage a fashion intervention because they didn’t approve of the clothes she was wearing. The hit singer is known for her girly style, but her band decided she had gone too far when they found her wearing “head to toe” florals and they realised she needed to just take a break and re-think how she styles herself. Carly explained the funny moment:
“My band are the first to notice if I start to dress a little funky, like the day they found me dressed head to toe in florals, One of them put their arm around me and said, ‘I think you need to go home and take a nap. You’re in head-to-toe florals right now.'”
Carly admits she wasn’t exposed to much designer fashion during her younger years because those kind of clothes weren’t even available to buy where she grew up. She believes her original sense of style only began to develop when she started to travel the world and was even able to visit some of the world’s most stylish cities which she thinks changed her look completely:
“I grew up in Mission, British Columbia, so there weren’t really any designer shops. I think I got a taste for it as I started to travel and see the world. I became more interested in fashion and had my eye on what I liked. Plus, I was getting to travel to Paris, to Italy and see fashion shows. That opened my eyes to all of the possibilities.”
