Aubrey Plaza says she was shocked by a toilet masturbation scene which was included in new film ‘The To Do List’, because she thought “camera trickery” would be used, but instead she was forced to make it look as real as possible for the cameras which she just wasn’t expecting. Aubrey says that although she read writer and director Maggie Carey’s journals which included graphic sexual details, she was certain that when it came to putting the scene on to film, there would be some way around it. She was then shocked to find a camera mounted on a cubicle ceiling:
“I didn’t realise when I was reading, ‘and then Brandy masturbates… and her sister walks in,’ how it would be shot. I saw that the camera was mounted on the ceiling and I was wearing just a pro-Clinton T-shirt and my underwear. I kept thinking, ‘There’s gonna be some camera trickery,’ but no I had to put both my hands on my vagina and just do it; so that was memorable!”
The actress also reveals that she is full Puerto Rican even though she thinks it comes as surprise because people don’t think she is:
“A lot of people don’t assume I’m Puerto Rican because I’m fair skinned, but I feel very connected to that side of my family.”
