5 Celebrities Who’ve Denied Eating Disorder Rumors

Eating disorders are extremely serious, but sadly the media are often too quick to jump to conclusions and say a celebrity is struggling with one when it might not be the case. These 5 celebrities have all been caught up in rumors regarding their potential health problems, but they’ve denied that they have an eating disorder and say the constant speculation can be tough to deal with, while many find it frustrating.

Lady Gaga

Gaga says she doesn’t have a problem but just often doesn’t get time to eat because of how hard she works: “My schedule is such that I don’t get very much time to eat. But I certainly don’t have an eating problem.”

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson says she has never had an eating disorder and thinks girls need to have better attitude towards their bodies: “If there is one thing I will never have, it is an eating disorder. I won’t have girls – even if it is just one or two who care – thinking that. Because it is a serious sickness, not something to plaster on the cover of a magazine. And I am the opposite… I want girls to love themselves. I want them to feel good about who they are… The thing is, I’m lucky because I was loved. But I have seen so many young women who can’t feel good about themselves because they just don’t have…that love.”

LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn just ignores the articles written about her rumored eating disorder: “I don’t care about the dumb articles. I know how healthy I am. Maybe those people should start taking care of themselves… inside and out. Maybe it’s time for a nude pic so peeps can see how I look nowhere near what these stupid pics are trying to make me look like, Lol (laugh out loud).”

Nicole Richie

Nicole hit back at news outlets who reported that she went to rehab for an eating disorder: “Contrary to CNN’s false accusations, I did not check myself into an eating disorder rehab. I do not have an eating disorder. Whoever has started this rumour is evil and mean but it’s not true.”

Selena Gomez

Selena finds eating disorder rumors frustrating: “It’s so frustrating. Meet me in person, and you can’t say anything. No bones sticking out. Just because people are calling you skinny doesn’t mean I’m like, ‘Yay!’ No! You’re telling me I don’t look right. This is me, this is my body – I have accepted it.”
