5 Celebrities Who Don’t Use a Stylist

It may be the norm to have a stylist in Hollywood, but these 5 celebrities are so passionate about fashion that they simply don’t want any help. They really enjoy the process of putting together a unique outfit and they believe that if they had a stylist it wouldn’t reflect their own personality anymore. They think getting dressed for an event should be experimental, creative and most importantly fun, as well as a way to express their individuality – it must work for them, because these 5 celebrities are regularly lauded for their amazing fashion sense!

Blake Lively

Blake enjoys making outfits so doesn’t want help putting together looks: “I don’t have a stylist. I love it too much! You know, getting to play dress up every day – it’s amazing! I love fashion. I love design and it’s always a new challenge”.However, she does have some good friends in fashion that she asks for advice if she needs some: “Christian helped me pick out my shoes…He’s a good friend and somebody I trust incredibly. He’s the closest thing that I say I have to a stylist. There are few people that I ask – Karl, Christian.”

Rachel Bilson

Rachel believes getting dressed should be fun and experimental, which is why she doesn’t want to hire a stylist: “I really dress myself. I`ve been known to put a necklace in my hair, that`s what getting dressed should be. It`s about fun and experimenting. I think you either enjoy it or you don’t – and I do.”

Jessie J

Jessie loves to put together outfits herself so only has the help of a shopper: “I’ve never had a stylist. I’ve just had a shopper. And that’s only been recently. I’m one of those people that if I want to wear something out there I will, and if I don’t, I won’t.”

Dita Von Teese

Dita thinks those with stylists don’t really care about having their own style and she admires those who do it themselves: “Every celebrity today seems to hire a stylist to choose their clothes. I admire women like Daphne Guinness and the late Isabella Blow – women that took risks and have their own personal style without having to pay someone to do it. I don’t have a team working with me, I do my own hair and make-up. Like other women, I was worrying that I couldn’t do anything with my hair tonight. I don’t have a stylist, I get all my clothes myself.”

Diane Kruger

Diane thinks personal style can only come from yourself, while she points out that much of celebrity style is too alike: “I got rid of all of them, only because I just don’t think a lot of people have style in Hollywood, or at least not what I like. I think everybody looks the same. I come from fashion, and who knows better what I like than myself? I understand why some actors just don’t care, or they are not sure. If those people want stylists, great, go for it.”
